In an attempt to continue making a difference in the young people’ lives, Star For Life is working very closely with various government departments to uplift young people’s lives. In honour of the Mandela day, a group of Star For Life employees headed to the rural area of Makhowe under Hlabisa Municipality to renovate one of the community members house.
The beneficiary of this intervention lives with her two daughters 16 and 9, they are both school going children. She was overwhelmed with happiness, “I am very happy for what Star For Life has done for us, they have installed a new roof, new door and painted the whole house” said the beneficiary who is a grade 08 learner at Bonga high school.
Scebile Nsele our Mobile health co-ordinator, said she will liaise with the relevant stakeholders to ensure that the children get the necessary support. “Giving back has never felt this awesome! Dr Nelson Mandela has served 67 years fighting for our freedom, now it's our turn to give back” said Scebile.
Following the house renovations, we visited Makhowe primary school. The school has not been renovated for some time. The Star For Life team painted and cleaned up the whole school. This is what the deputy principal of the school had to say “ I cannot express the way I feel right now, I am so grateful for what Star For Life has done for our school, I hope you will continue doing great things for other from disadvantaged background like us”.
This is campaign was part of an on-going Star For Life of changing people’s lives.
