What is Star for Life?
Star for Life is an educational/ motivational programme, the aim of which is to strengthen the self esteem of young people in order that they might be better equipped to realize their dreams. We have developed a unique method in order to achieve this and external evaluations show very positive results.
Now, 2016, the program is operating in 101 schools in South Africa, 20 in Namibia, 9 in Sweden and 1 in Sri Lanka. We reach 100 000 pupils in three continents and, during the ten years that we have been operating, we have reached approximately 300 000 pupils.
The work of Star for Life is in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Millennium Development Goals, to create fairer and more sustainable societies.
In its strategic plan Star for Life has chosen to define its activities in the following way:
“Star for Life offers a set of motivational programmes and services that inspire young people to value learning, acquire the knowledge and skills they need for productive work, and lead healthy lives free from AIDS.”
"A future in which young people are empowered to realize their dreams as responsible members of caring communities.”
”To motivate young people to value learning, acquire the knowledge and skills they need for productive work, and live healthy and meaningful lives.”
